Inhalant Allergy Treatment - Including Immunotherapy and Xolair
Immunotherapy is regular exposures of increasing amounts of extracts of allergens (the substances that cause allergies) to which you are sensitive.
XOLAIR (omalizumab) for subcutaneous use is an injectable, prescription medicine for patients ages 12 and older. It is for patients with moderate-to-severe persistent allergic asthma caused by year-round allergens in the air. A skin or blood test is done to see if you have allergic asthma. XOLAIR is for patients who are not controlled by asthma medicines called inhaled steroids.
Find Out MoreXOLAIR helps reduce the number of asthma attacks in people with allergic asthma who still have asthma symptoms even though they are taking inhaled steroids.
When medication and environmental controls fail to relieve your allergy symptoms, immunotherapy can reduce your sensitivities. It is effective for pollens, dust, mold spores, fungi, and some animal danders.
How does it work? Your allergy symptoms are caused by your body producing excessive amounts of allergy antibody when you breathe allergens. Immunotherapy helps your immune system build protective antibodies to the various allergens for which you are being treated. These protective antibodies reduce the allergic reactions and can suppress your system's tendency to produce excessive allergy antibodies.

Asthma Care - Including Pulmonary Function Tests
Asthma is a chronic disease of the airways of the lungs. Unfortunately, asthma never goes away, but the right treatment can help keep it under control.
Find Out MoreSome people think there is only one cause of asthma symptoms. But actually, asthma symptoms have two main causes, and both occur within the airways of your lungs.
Airway constriction is the cause of asthma symptoms that you may feel as a tightening in your chest. The muscles around the airways of your lungs squeeze together or tighten. This tightening is often called "bronchoconstriction," and it can make it hard for you to breathe.
Inflamation This is the cause of asthma symptoms you probably do not notice. If you have asthma, the airways of your lungs are always inflamed, and they become more swollen and irritated when your asthma symptoms worsen. Inflammation can reduce the amount of air that you can take in or breathe out. In some cases, too much thick mucus is produced, which further obstructs the airways.

Echocardiograms & Vascular Ultrasounds
An echocardiogram often referred to in the medical community as a cardiac ECHO or simply an ECHO, is a sonogram of the heart. Also known as a cardiac ultrasound, it uses standard ultrasound techniques to image two-dimensional slices of the heart. The latest ultrasound systems now employ 3D real-time imaging.
Vascular Ultrasounds, also known as "Sonography", "Doppler Exams" or "Duplex Exams" is a non-invasive procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the arteries and veins.
